Having been no stranger to violence, drugs and gangs - Arsen has risen above and beyond the duties of a soldier. Today, Arsen is leading the charge on a whole new movement that promises to resurrect West Coast rap music with his first single "Represent."

What prompted you to get into music? A life changing event?

"I started rapping around 14 about what I was experiencing in life and in the hood, and even to this day, everything I rap about, I have either done and been through or it is something that I am experiencing at this point in my life. Now coming where I'm from, and having numerous tatts, affiliations, for one reason or another I could not get/hold a job, and thats when I decided to step my music up to the next level, and started working with numerous major artists including, 40 Glocc "G-Unit", JR Writer "Dipset", San Quinn, Skeelo, Mc Eiht "Comptons Most Wanted", The Federation, Badazz "The Outlawz", and many others, so i can get my story out to the world."

Arsen's first single "Represent" featuring G-Unit's 40 Glocc is set to be released today [11/3] everywhere music is sold online.

On this track, Arsen's voice is low, gritty and forceful as he uses music as a mechanism to express what he's going through internally. The simple message of his lyrics - "Represent your $h*t" The beat resembles an old school G-funk West Coast groove reminiscent of "Nuthin' but a "G" Thang." It features a slow, drawled out multi-layered form of a Hip-Hop beat, that's simple and easy to crip walk to. 40 Glocc has the same flow and sound as his G-Unit counterpart Lloyd Banks which isn't a bad thing since we're already familiar with the G-Unit sound.

Continuing on the path of a true General, Arsen is donating 3% off the net sales of "Represent" to help out the victims of typhoons Ondoy (Ketsana) in the Philippines. He's also teamed up with comedian Jo Koy, boxer Manny Pacquiao and the S.O.S. foundation to bring awareness to the cause. When asked about his special interest in the Philippines outreach projects, Arsen had this to say:

"I myself have a large following of fans from the Philippines and I feel that the U.S. is not doing as much as they can to help the survivors. So I decided that hopefully with people seeing me as an artist and business owner helping the cause, maybe they would jump in too. I think everybody needs help sometimes and I'm the type of person, if i have it - will most likely share it."

We will be learning more about Arsen throughout the following weeks as he talks about growing up in the Bay, music, and his goals in life all while he sets up to release his second single "Get it crack'n" on Nov. 10.

We are all fortunate that we have been spared from the wrath and destruction of
Typhoon Ondoy/Ketsana.

Most of us have already extended help and support in one way or another to the victims of this calamity but our determination to help shouldn't stop anytime soon. Even though it has already been a couple of weeks since the typhoon hit the Philippines, there are still a lot of help and work needed to restore the lives of those people affected.

Billions have been affected, millions of dreams have been shattered, thousands of families have been displaced and hundreds of lives have been lost. It is a very long road to rehabilitation but if we all come together to reach out and extend our helping hands, this long road will be shortened. They need our continued support... Together we can "Make It Happen" and make a difference in people's lives.

When he checked out his status on how many plays he got on his myspace for "Represent" and "Get It Crackin" just for the day, he was pumped.!!! Before the release party...he was averaging 50 plays a day. After the release party...he's been getting.......

We just had that event last Wednesday on Oct. 7th at the Les Deux Nightclub in Hollywood. It turned out to be a blast!!! Arsen, Mair, Mizz Kitty, MIH, Inc., Braat Musik, Ed Hardy Hookahs, Playboy Energy Drinks, Warner Music, Katy Perry, just to name a few were in attendance. The stage were rockin'...the dance floors were jammin. The whole place were packed. Arsen teared the roof up when he went onstage to perform his singles "Represent" and "Get It Crack'n". And Mair did her thing onstage and showed everybody who she is...by performing her hit singles "Mary Alice" and "I Wonder". Thank you all for coming to this event and supporting. A Father's Passed-Down Talent and a Lack of Opportunities are Inspirations for one Airbrush and Tattoo Artist Born in Central America in the turbulent country of El Salvador, and growing up in the streets of Los Angeles around Santa Monica and Venice areas, Anthony Martinez knows all about struggle. The youngest of 7 children, Anthony moved into a house with his brothers and sisters upon his initial arrival in Los Angeles. Seeking the proverbial better life, he instead found confusion and tough times in the City of Angels in 1980. This was a time when gangs were running rampant, drugs were plentiful, and the city was ripped apart by constant violence. His sister enrolled him in Mount Vernon junior high school which was infested with gang activity, to the point that everywhere he went, he saw and felt the pressures of gang affiliation. "I didn't know anything about it, just thought it was the coolest thing since my family was doing the same thing at home," he recalls. As the months went by, he eventually got to know some of the gang members and started hanging out with them, smoking, and drinking with them, engaging in all of the usual activities these bad influences had bestowed upon him. He was becoming more involved with gangs, and less involved with progress, a choice that would prove very costly to him

After serving 7 years in the California Youth Authority for various offenses, he knew something had to change, something had to give. "I was completely lost and confused," he says. "I had no role models in my life, but somehow I managed to overcome that obstacle and learn about a higher power." He credits this newfound spiritual awareness as the key to his salvation. "I paroled in 1998, and met my wife for the first time. A year later, we got married and we are still married," he glows. He had his woman, now he just needed to find his calling, and, channeling memories of his childhood, he found it right before his eyes

"I can remember as a young child In El Salvador, sitting and watching my dad draw animal figures, his favorite one was an owl. He was a great artist but back then they had no artist recognitions," he states solemnly. "It was destined for me to pursue a special gift that was passed on to me. My dream is to be recognized as a talented artist." Using his father's passed down talent and lack of opportunities as his inspiration, Anthony got to work, setting the wheels of his dream in motion.

"As the years passed, I went from sketching to drawing beautiful pieces of art; then discovered how to use the airbrush and started airbrushing and creating murals, customizing on shirts, hats, or just about any piece of canvas I can get my hands on." In 2008 Anthony started his own business called "The Airbrush Studio", which features his custom airbrushing skills. He has also found opportunity offering a unique live experience with his art. "I offer event and party entertainment in which I go to private affairs, clubs & company promos, and perform live airbrushing for them," he explains. As a minor, Anthony also practiced tattooing with a homemade machine, and as his skills got better, he landed an apprenticeship at Venice Tattoos on the boardwalk for about two years. This launched his career as a tattoo artist which he is now doing professionally in his own private studio with an extensive portfolio to match. Forever branching out and creating, Anthony came up with another endeavor. "As I keep struggling as an artist to be discovered, I came up with another idea of having my own clothing line "A.M Style Fashion" in which I have printed my own artwork in hopes to make a living as an artist, and provide for my wife and kids," Anthony states proudly.

Mizz Kitty is the most dynamic artist to hit the hip-hop scene since the beginning of time. She is the ultimate "Triple Threat". She writes, composes, and performs her music with the charm and mischief of seasoned artist music.

Mizz kitty discovered her love for music through her love for creative writing. At the age nine she started writing poetry. It didn't take long for her poems to develop from short rhymes to telling stories. These poem/stories were only the beginning. All of Mizz Kitty spare time was spent writing. Her stories about life became her lyrics, and her passion for music became her life. As an eleventh grade student at Paramount High School Mizz Kitty was preparing for a bright future in music, when she was shot four times during a drive-by shooting. Her life was not in jeopardy, but her dreams were put on hold. Her doctors at King Drew Medical Center told her that it would take two years for her to regain the ability to walk. From the time she was shot and given her prognosis, Mizz Kitty was determined to prove the doctors wrong. Eight months later Mizz Kitty was walking... And soon after that she was back on stage performing her music. Since her recovery Mizz Kitty has opened of for various known artist in the industry such as, Sean Paul, Kelis, Christina Milian, Baby Bash and much more.

Mizz Kitty has featured on a track with Master P called "My Life," on his 2007 debut album entitled "Miller Boyz". She has also featured on Romeo's unreleased album "Gumbo Station". She is determined to realize her dream of being a premier Hip-Hop artist.

She credits her recovery to the love and support of her family, close friends and fans. To give back Mizz Kitty has collaborated with CEO/American Gangster Chico Brown founder of Reach Back LA Youth Center; she prides herself on sharing her story and performing for young people around The Greater of Los Angeles area.

Hey guys I'm April with MIH and I'm sitting here with Arsen at his Manager's house.

April: Hey Arsen how are you doing?

Arsen: Good...nice to meet you.

April: Nice to meet you. So Arsen tell us...where did that name come from?

Arsen: Arsen? It's kind of a long story but basically we got such a big movement spreading right now. Spreading like a wildfire. And we're eliminating competition at the same time

April: Nice. That's great. So I hear that you're from Northern California?

Arsen: Yeah. Bay Area.

April: Bay Area. How is it like growing up there?

Arsen: It's crazy you know kind of like L.A. but music wise...it's real hard to come out so I had to transfer out here to get my music out.

April: And what was your movement called?

Arsen: "From The Bay To L.A. United We Stand"

April: Very appropriate. So...can you tell us about the labels, the recording labels that you are working with.

Arsen: Yeah. Right now I'm signed with "Universal Records". Sub labels under that, Gwap Boy Records, The main ones that are pushing out the album. We also have the digital distribution here as well with Bratt Musik. We're looking to expand it.

April: Great. And you do have an album coming up correct?

Arsen: Yeah. "On The Come Up" September 26.

April: September 26. Mark your calendar. And you have 2 singles right now?

Arsen: Yup. 2 singles coming up on September 2nd actually. It's "Represent" featuring 40 Glocc from G-Unit. Real good song for everybody who likes the gansta stuff. And we got "Get It Crackin" which is actually MIH anthem and that is more of a club song.

April: Nice. Looking forward to hearing that. So can you tell us about the featured artist in your album.

Arsen: Oh yeah. Man...we got a whole roster. Couple of artist coming out. Skeelo, 40 Glocc, San Quinn, a Rappin 4-Tay from back in the days, looking at Bone Thugs, J.R. Writer. So we got a full roster.

April: Wow! I'm really excited about that. So...What do expect from "On The Come Up" besides your collaborations with those rappers. Anything we can look forward to?

Arsen: Well basicallly you know with the Universal Album we're touching on multiple different levels. You know we're going anywhere from slow songs to where you and your boyfriends and girlfriends can dance to...to tearing up the clubs.

April: Right. So besides "On The Come Up"...what else have you been keeping yourself busy with right nowadays?

Arsen: So much stuff going on you know. We just drop the new clothing line. You guys can see that on my myspace. Also...we're trying to set up this national and international tour right now. Trying to touch Tokyo, Germany, Philippines.

April: Wow. International. And you mention your new clothing line. What's your clothing line called?

Arsen: WCK

April: Ok. So besides that. I heard that when you featured with Eminem in the remix of the song "Beautiful"...there's a line that goes "Glock 45 pointed right at my temple." Can you tell us about that?

Arsen: Yeah...i guess we could get on the subject. A couple of month ago, I was going through some real hard time. You know, I wasn't having the greatest personal life, greatest business life, kind've crashing you know so I was on the whole pull the trigger situation. Every night at the dining room table, there was Walls Street Bankers that had less problems at that time than I did and they were jumping out of windows. So where does that lead me you know? So thankfully...we made that song and I put it out on paper instead of making it a reality.

April: Also your other songs such as "War Stories" and " Beautiful", you rapped about getting shot twice and stabbed 7 times...and you're still here with us?! How is that possible?

Arsen: I didn't have the greatest life when I was growing up you know obviously so I got stabbed 7 times punctured my lungs. 2 weeks later I got shot twice and almost fractured my pelvis. I'm trying to move on from all that and try to do bigger things, gotta get out of the streets and just do something better with my life now.

April: That's great. I'm sure you're a great role model to all of your fans out there.

Arsen: I would hope so.

April: Speaking of getting shot and stabbed. There's a rumor going around that you are also known as "The Mexican 2Pac". Is that true?

Arsen: Yeah. Hopefully I don't end up like that. Seriously...I may not be in the same level but we definitely have the same subjects going on in our songs that's why I think we're getting the response that we're getting.

April: Ok so...getting into your personal life. A little more intimate here. There's been some photos going around in the internet of you with this very beautiful lady. Tell us about who this special lady is.

Arsen: She's actually my fiancee. We're getting married on Valentine's Day next year.Trying to make her a bigger part of my life now.

April: Oh wow...would you like to share with us what her name is?

Arsen: Yeah...Jackie

April: Before we finish up...can you tell us any other things that we can expect from Arsen in the near future?

Arsen: Definitely. Expect me on a nationwide tour for sure. Keep an eye out for the clothing line and the album coming out. Working on the next album for next year. In the next couple of weeks we'll start doing that.You know...Skeelo's album's coming out next month. I got 2 songs on that. So we'll be doing some big things.
